Cimarron is seeking a *Software Engineer* to support the development of modeling and simulation capabilities for the GeoXO Ground Data System (GDS) as part of our digital simulation delivery team in Denver, CO. This role focuses on real-time, mission-critical system simulation, requiring expertise in C++, Python, and Linux-based development.
This is a *hybrid *position that will allow for some remote work (i.e., work from home)!
Key Duties: 
- Develop and maintain simulation software in support of GeoXO system modeling efforts.
- Analyze and implement communication protocols between software and hardware components.
- Support integration, unit testing, and debugging of simulation software.
- Collaborate with systems, GNC, and hardware engineers to refine simulation models.
- Interpret hardware specifications to support accurate modeling and communication behavior.
- Contribute to continuous integration and DevOps practices using tools such as GitLab and Docker.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. 
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Linux development experience.
- Experience with device communication protocols and interpreting hardware specs.
- Strong debugging, unit testing, and integration testing skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 5 or more years of related experience, Master's degree and 3 or more years of related experience, or Ph.D. and 1 or more years of related experience. 
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 
- Experience with threading and concurrency.
- Background in real-time or mission-critical systems.
- Experience with Simulink and GNC systems.
- Simics experience.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and principles (Jira, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes).
- General modeling experience and understanding of spacecraft design and components.
