Quick Position Facts!

Location: San Diego, CA at our G2 Ops office and customer site.

Work Setting: In person, some remote opportunity, and/or flexible working hours,not a fully remote position.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $155,000 plus comprehensive benefits package.

Years of Industry Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Where you make an impact: For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Model-Based Systems Engineer to work within NAVWAR, PEO C4I to define the end-to-end integration strategy for surface ship communication suites. The engineer will apply MBSE methods to bridge existing platform models and scale the architecture across naval surface force (SURFOR) platforms, with an initial focus on the DDG fleet.

This role ensures all modeling outputs are technically accurate, scalable, and aligned with future operational requirements. The engineer will collaborate closely with program managers, warfare center engineers, and fleet representatives to enable strategic implementation. You will:

  • Provide MBSE technical support to surface ship integration and in-service engineering teams.
  • Develop scalable models that support future operational requirements, enabling data-driven decisions, interactive troubleshooting for sailors, and evaluations of strike group readiness.
  • Scale the integrated model architecture across naval surface ships to support fleet-wide interoperability, beginning with major surface combatants.
  • Leverage existing high-fidelity models to expand architectural coverage across the surface force.
  • Implement strategic digital engineering frameworks and support long-term integration goals.

What does this mean to you? We are seeking expertise in:

  • MBSE Proficiency: Approximately five years of applied experience using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and industry-standard tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw to develop complex, integrated capability models.
  • Systems Architecture: Experience supporting technical initiatives and architectural frameworks within a Department of Defense or Navy program office environment.
  • Data Integration: Ability to establish frameworks for importing and translating functional interface data into dynamic, end-to-end models.
  • Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of naval C4I systems, sensor networks, and surface ship platform architectures.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate digital engineering solutions into actionable strategies for stakeholders and in-service engineering agents.

Compensation & Benefits. The annual salary range for this position is $115,000-$155,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
