The ideal candidate will have a strong background in model-based testing, automation, and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed model-based test plans, models, and strategies for complex Naval systems and subsystems
  • Design, build, and maintain test models using industry-standard modelling languages, such as Unified Modelling Language (UML), System Modelling Language (SysML), or MATLAB/Simulink, to support Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testing and validation
  • Execute model-based tests, including functional, performance, and environmental testing, using automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Analyze test results, identify trends, and generate comprehensive test reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, software developers, and system integrators, to ensure seamless model-based testing and validation
  • Stay abreast of emerging model-based testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our testing processes
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of model-based test documentation, including test plans, models, test cases, and test reports
  • Participate in root cause analysis and lessons learned activities to identify opportunities for process improvement and knowledge sharing.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience in model-based testing, automation, and validation, with a focus on Naval systems and Subsystems
  • Experience designing, developing, and executing comprehensive model-based test plans and procedures for complex hardware systems
  • Strong knowledge of model-based testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, including UML, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or other modelling languages
  • Proficiency in using model-based testing automation tools and frameworks
  • Experience with HIL testing, power electronics, or embedded systems is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience with Naval Combat Systems and their supporting elements is considered an asset
  • Experience with IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is considered an asset
  • Experience with CAMEO is considered an asset
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Experience with military or aerospace model-based testing and validation
  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as DO-178C, DO-254, or Avionics Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX)
  • Certification in relevant testing methodologies (e.g., International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), Certified Software Tester (CSTE)).
