Description:
What You Will Do:
  • This position supports development teams through the creation of a wide variety of physical models.
  • The role focuses on creative development while applying an understanding of manufacturing processes, decoration application, and tooling requirements.
  • Working closely with development partners, this position helps deliver high-quality prototypes that meet the needs of internal teams and licensing partners while using the latest technologies.
  • The role also manages the external vendor base by assigning development work, monitoring quality, and ensuring timely delivery of prototypes.

In addition,
  • This position is responsible for packing, shipping, and tracking prototypes moving into and out of the development process to ensure that both internal teams and external partners receive required samples.
  • This role uses a variety of technologies, including 3D printers, laser cutters, desktop CNC equipment, standard shop tools, and both spray and hand painting techniques.
  • Models produced in this role are used for internal presentations, concept reviews, licensor meetings and approvals, as well as retailer presentations.
  • The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities, communicate status clearly, and deliver work by agreed deadlines.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting several small- to medium-sized brands, partnering with the Boston model shop, Design, Sculpting, and Marketing teams to develop and define the aesthetic appearance of physical models.
  • This position works with highly sensitive intellectual property and must follow company policies and procedures to ensure that IP assets are protected in all forms.

What You Will Bring:
  • The ideal candidate brings a passion for creating physical models and uses the latest technologies alongside strong hands-on skills to bring concepts to life.
  • This role requires strong prototyping experience and proficiency with 3D development technologies and software commonly used in the industry to create highly finished prototypes.
  • The candidate should have experience managing multiple projects and priorities while ensuring that development partners receive finished samples on time to meet required timelines.
  • A solid understanding of consumer product development milestones is essential, along with experience supporting product development through models used for licensor samples, photo samples, and marketing promotional assets.
  • You will use your expertise to manage multiple projects with external vendors, overseeing cost, timing, and quality while ensuring on-time delivery.
  • This role manages all incoming and outgoing prototype shipments for development partners, ensuring due diligence in packing, shipping, and tracking to maintain sample security.
  • Strong communication skills are required to partner effectively with cross-functional team members on aesthetics and component or content accuracy.
  • This position may also support shows and events that require both domestic and international travel.
