Job Summary:The Production Maintenance Technician I will complete required PM’s and perform repairs on the client’s facility equipment as directed by the Site Leadership. This position will utilize a “flow to the work” concept. The successful Tech I will be an excellent communicator and have exceptional follow-up capabilities. The Tech I will exhibit an ownership attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:1. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures. |
2. Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc. |
3. Understand and utilize portable ladders and demonstrate proper selection of required fall protection devices. |
4. Performs preventive maintenance activities on facilities following written instructions. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of worn or defective items (i.e., belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration. |
5. Completes assigned work orders and documents completion within the CMMS. Completes repairs including rebuilding of pumps, steam traps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices. |
6. Completes general repairs on process equipment. Completes repairs to valves (air, steam, hydraulic) and cylinders (air, steam, hydraulic). |
7. Performs shift "rounds" using a checklist to document performance characteristics (i.e., operation modes, pressures, temperatures, RPM, etc.) of facility systems and equipment. |
8. Communicates with the customer’s operational leadership, site leadership or designee in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order. |
9. Performs PM & repairs within the process area. |
10. Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities. |
11. Other duties as assigned. |
Education (HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.) | HS Diploma or equivalent preferred or combination of experience and training. |
Business Experience (Prior years’ work/related experience) | 2 0r more years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience. |
Licenses/Certifications | Valid driver’s license, Fork truck operator’s license, JLG operator’s license |
Language Skills | 1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos. 2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 3. Ability to effectively present information in one–on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization |

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
