Mold Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)
Pay: $25–$35/hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Technician to join our team on 1st shift. This role is focused exclusively on bench work and mold repair within the Injection Department—no press setup required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing molds and tooling components to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed mold maintenance, focusing on bench work, repair, and component restoration
- Disassemble, clean, polish, inspect, repair, and reassemble molds
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure molds meet performance and quality expectations
- Replace and adjust inserts, slides, and other mold components for production readiness
- Diagnose and repair hot runner systems, valve gates, electrical controls, and hydraulic components (cylinders and manifolds)
- Execute precision repairs using laser welding and manual machining (milling, grinding, turning)
- Perform bench testing for water leaks and evaluate electrical systems for functionality
- Maintain proper cleaning, handling, and storage of mold components
- Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules to extend tool life and prevent failures
- Accurately document all maintenance, repairs, and improvements
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare and replacement parts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of mold maintenance experience in an injection molding environment
- Strong knowledge of hot runner and valve gate systems
- Ability to operate conventional machining equipment (drill press, surface grinder, milling machine, lathe) independently
- Experience with forklift operation and overhead crane rigging for moving heavy molds
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
