We’re seeking an experienced Mold Maker for a leader in tooling and plastic injection molding located in Clinton Township, MI. This 1st shift position is responsible for building, fitting, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing molds used in a production environment.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong manual machining skills who can work from blueprints, determine the proper sequence of operations, and complete projects with limited supervision.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build, fit, assemble, repair, and modify molds and related tooling
Work from blueprints, drawings, and instructions to plan machining and assembly operations
Operate manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and lathes
Use hand tools to fit and assemble molds, gauges, and mechanical components
Produce prototype molds using materials such as aluminum and bronze
Troubleshoot mold issues and make the necessary adjustments or repairs
Work closely with CNC programmers to complete projects
Verify completed work meets customer specifications and project deadlines
Maintain a safe and organized work area
What We’re Looking For
Previous mold-making, mold repair, or closely related tooling experience
Strong manual machining experience
Experience operating Bridgeport mills and lathes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Knowledge of machining methods, mathematics, and metal properties
Experience fitting and assembling precision components
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage projects to completion
High school diploma, vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience
Position Details
1st shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
$30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime may be available or required based on workload
