Job Summary
We are seeking a Molding Automation Technician with hands-on experience in injection molding automation. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting automated molding equipment, programming industrial robots, and supporting production by maintaining automation systems for maximum uptime.
Job Title: Molding Automation Technician
Location: Libertyville, IL
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in injection molding automation or a related manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with robot programming and troubleshooting (Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin, Wittmann, or similar).
- Strong experience with PLCs, HMIs, servo motors, motion control systems, VFDs, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting automation systems in an injection molding environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automation equipment, including robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems.
- Program, modify, and optimize industrial robots used for part handling, degating, and packaging.
- Diagnose PLC and HMI-related issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on molding automation equipment.
- Calibrate sensors, actuators, and automation components.
- Support mold trials, production start-ups, and new product launches.
- Maintain robot program backups and equipment documentation.
- Work with Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve automation reliability and production efficiency.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with manufacturing standards.
