Molecular Laboratory Supervisor (NGS Focus)
Location: Milford, PA (Onsite)
Position Overview
The Molecular Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the molecular diagnostics laboratory, with a focus on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows. This role ensures high-quality testing, staff oversight, and compliance with all regulatory requirements while supporting the Laboratory Director in maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily laboratory operations, ensuring timely and accurate test results
  • Oversee NGS workflows, including sample processing, library prep, sequencing, and data handoff
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, NYS DOH, and other regulatory standards
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff; conduct competency assessments
  • Monitor quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes and address deviations
  • Assist with validation and implementation of new assays and technologies
  • Maintain and review laboratory documentation, SOPs, and records
  • Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and workload distribution
  • Support inspection readiness and participate in audits
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex problems as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Medical Technology, or related field
  • NYS license in Molecular Pathology (required)
  • Minimum 3 5 years of molecular laboratory experience, including NGS
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of molecular techniques (PCR, qPCR, NGS)
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, NYS DOH)
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
