The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the full cycle financial close process including General Ledger maintenance, expense management and work in progress tracking. This position is located in-office 5 days a week (Rockville, MD).

• Reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts and record applicable journal entries
• Prepare period end fluctuation analysis to support the timely closing of the period.
• Review non-merchandise invoices for proper coding and approvals.
• Review utility invoices for proper usage and work with utility providers to ensure timely payment
• Review store expenses to ensure proper coding and record necessary accruals
• Pull supporting documentation and receipts to record all online purchases
• Manage the corporate credit card reconciliation process and ensure adherence to travel policy
• Work closely with other departments to track work-in-progress and maintain corporate and production inventories
• Evaluate initiatives, recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to achieve continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
• Prepare and present data/presentations in a timely and easy to understand format.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• 3-5 years' related experience

• Proficiency with automated A/P systems

• Experience with general ledger account reconciliation

• Experience with financial reporting and analysis

• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Google Suite & Microsoft Office

• Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills

• Consistency with meeting deadlines

• Ability to prioritize tasks that change frequently and manage unexpected demands

• Dependable, follows instructions and takes initiative to solve problems

• Interest in company culture and desire to grow in the field

• Experience in a fast-paced work environment

Nice to have:

• 5+ years' experience in field

• Previous retail/merchande experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Medius

The salary range for this position is $82- $95k.
