Monitor Technician - Health Unit Clerk-CICU

What We Offer

The Unit Clerk/Monitor Tech works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and under the direct supervision of the Manager, Coordinator and the Professional Registered Nurse. The UC/MT performs clerical duties associated with preparing, compiling and maintaining the patient records on a clinical nursing unit; as well as observe the cardiac monitoring system. Monitoring responsibilities include observing for arrhythmias, documenting rhythms, answering alarms and minor equipment upkeep.

What You'll Do

• Communicates verbal information accurately and courteously in accordance with the medical center's policies.
• Transcribes, communicates and maintains written information accurately and courteously in accordance with the Medical Center's policies.
• Maintains continuous cardiac monitoring of patients, documents and interprets arrhythmias, wave forms and informs nursing staff of pertinent changes.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School or GED, required. Vocational / Technical, preferred. Vocational education as a Unit Clerk or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience Preferred. Prefer knowledge/experience with medical terminology, preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence
