Experience and knowledge working with students of all ages from preschool to high school in a school setting
Experience and knowledge working with special needs students to include but not limited to, physical and/or mental disabilities ranging from low incidence to severe
Experience and knowledge of supporting the learning process for students who need additional support in academic subjects
Experience and knowledge of supporting language acquisition for students who need additional support in academic subjects required
Adequate physical strength must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs up to 50lbs
Knowledge and experience working with computers, general office equipment, and general office operations
Demonstrated ability to safely manually handle/move/lift or transport students if necessary in a controlled or uncontrolled environment
RBT certification preferred; RBT training and certification may be required
Experience as braillist preferred; braillist training and certification may be required
Bilingual Spanish required - preferred if no qualified applicants
Essential Job Functions:
Assist student(s) with general education assignments and special needs as designated by the School Principal, Teacher, or Student Services Director
Establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with students, staff, volunteers, and community members, maintaining confidentiality
