About the Role:
Central Montessori Schools in Encinitas, CA is looking for passionate and nurturing Assistant Teachers to join our preschool team! Responsibilities:

• Support lead Montessori teachers in delivering hands-on, child-directed learning experiences
• Supervise and engage preschool-aged children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions
• Prepare and maintain Montessori materials and a tidy, organized classroom environment
• Observe and document individual child progress and developmental milestones
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom culture aligned with Montessori philosophy
• Communicate effectively with lead teachers, staff, and families regarding student needs
• Assist with daily routines including snack time, rest periods, and personal care as needed

Requirements:

• Experience working with preschool or early childhood-aged children preferred
• Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and methods is a plus
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or degree preferred
• Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must meet California state licensing requirements for childcare staff
