Monumental Washstand / Inspector - 1st Shift
Rock of Ages Monumental Plant | A Division of Polycor
Job Summary
Rock of Ages, a division of Polycor, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Monumental Washstand / Inspector to join our manufacturing team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for cleaning and preparing finished monuments for final inspection, verifying product quality against approved designs, and supporting production operations to ensure monuments meet Rock of Ages quality standards before shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clean finished granite monuments using pressure washers, approved cleaning chemicals, and other tools and equipment.
Remove manufacturing debris, dust, residue, tape, coatings, and other surface protectants from finished products.
Inspect completed monuments and compare them to approved design specifications to verify:
Dimensions and measurements
Surface finishes
Lettering, artwork, and engraving accuracy
Overall product quality
Prepare monuments for final quality sign-off by designated inspectors.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Assist with grout disposal and related housekeeping activities.
Provide support to the Base/Finish Line Lumper as needed.
Follow all company safety procedures, environmental policies, and quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Manufacturing, production, quality inspection, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and design specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools preferred.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and around water, cleaning agents, and stone products.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
Ability to work in a wet, dusty, and industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to safely operate pressure washing equipment and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule & Compensation
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
