McKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop – Wilmington, MAMcKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop is looking for friendly, dependable Cashiers to join our Wilmington team.As a Cashier, you will help create a positive and lasting impression by providing courteous, efficient service throughout each customer's visit. You'll accurately process purchases, answer questions and help maintain a clean, organized Front End.  The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates well and can remain friendly and attentive in a busy retail environment.ResponsibilitiesGreet customers and provide friendly, helpful serviceAccurately scan merchandise and process cash, credit, debit and gift card transactionsCollect payments, make change and maintain an accurate cash drawerContact a supervisor when change or a cash pickup is neededFollow through on customer questions and requestsAssist customers with gift card purchasesHelp maintain clean, organized and attractive Front End and customer service areasRetrieve shopping carts from outside as neededFollow established cleaning, food-safety and equipment-maintenance proceduresLearn about store products, promotions and product locationsCommunicate effectively with Front End associates and store leadershipImmediately report safety concerns, hazards or security issuesProperly care for registers and other Front End equipmentSupport the Front End Manager and store leadership with department needsMaintain regular and dependable attendancePerform other duties as assignedQualificationsFriendly, courteous and customer-focusedDependable, self-motivated and willing to take initiativeAble to communicate clearly and work well as part of a teamComfortable handling cash and completing transactions accuratelyBasic computer skills and the ability to learn register systemsAble to stay organized and attentive in a fast-paced environmentFlexible availability based on the needs of the departmentPrevious cashier or customer service experience is helpful, but not requiredIf you are dependable, enjoy helping people and want to join a locally operated supermarket team, we encourage you to apply today!
