Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and outgoing kitchen opener to join our team! Morning shift starts at 5:30 am. In this role, you will be responsible for morning opening of a small cafe, getting pastries ready and working in the kitchen doing prep work for all stations, then after opening, preparing sandwiches and cafe menu items throughout morning. The ideal candidate is passionate about food presentation, customer service and can work quickly and efficiently in a rush. Will be able to have some weekends off.  Willing to be a team player and cross train on other areas of the cafe including preparing coffee and espresso drinks. Willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare pastry items for small cafe (can be trained) 
• Be able to identify when stock is running low 
• Maintain a clean environment
• Daily prepwork for food items (keeping stock rotated and fresh) 
• Bus tables and wipe down surfaces

Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with food safety guidelines
• ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain shortly after hiring
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods
