GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide assistance to students when crossing roadways around the school.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Directs children safely across streets and roadways surrounding the school. • Displays crossing signs and markers at designated times during the day. • May pick up trash on school grounds. • Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques. • Knowledge of laws regarding school crossings. • Skill in directing traffic. • Skill in observing the activities of others. • Skill in effectively communicating verbally in English and Spanish. • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stay alert and monitor the activities of children. • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions. • Bilingual required.
