Job Title: Sr. Mortgage/MSP Accountant
Job Location: Suwanee, GA, Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL - Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite (All remote work must be performed within the United States.)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire - Must be able to work as a W2 employee of Newbold. Direct Hire may be considered for the right candidate.
Compensation: $45-54/hr based on the candidate’s skills and experience. Contract compensation will be determined based on experience and engagement structure. No other forms of compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, are offered for the contract position. Newbold offers health care benefits and other benefits under applicable Federal or State law.
Job Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a Senior Mortgage Reconciliation Accountant to support its mortgage accounting team, with an immediate focus on resolving and stabilizing mortgage servicing reconciliations. This individual will investigate complex reconciliation issues, work through discrepancies independently, and help establish effective processes going forward. The ideal candidate will have strong mortgage servicing accounting experience, hands-on MSP knowledge, and the ability to communicate accounting issues clearly across Accounting and Mortgage Servicing/Lending teams.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with strong mortgage servicing accounting and reconciliation experience
- Hands-on MSP experience, including understanding of MSP accounting/reporting and GLCF tables
- Experience reconciling mortgage servicing activity to a separate General Ledger system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research discrepancies, follow transactions through to resolution, and recommend solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-accounting business partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience
