Overview:

The Mortgage Compliance Liaison Specialist acts as a strategic bridge between compliance, legal, and mortgage operations, ensuring seamless integration of regulatory requirements into underwriting, processing, and sales functions.

 

This role is responsible for supporting the implementation of new and revised policies, procedures, and guidelines by developing effective employee communications and training materials.  This role plays a key part in mitigating risk by ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and investor guidelines, while driving operational consistency and protecting the organization from regulatory and reputational exposure.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with internal departments and subject matter experts to develop, review, and maintain mortgage policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Interpret and translate regulatory and operational requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
  • Coordinate and secure approvals for policy updates and revisions
  • Support the rollout of new or updated policies by developing employee communications and training materials
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency across mortgage operations
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including loan file preparation, disclosures, and post-closing activities (e.g., subordinations)
  • Monitor adherence to policies and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Assist with audit requests, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Perform other duties as assigned  
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • At least 3+ years of experience in mortgage operations, compliance, loan processing, or related banking roles
  • Experience with mortgage regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID) preferred
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple levels
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and office management systems.
  • High level of accuracy when processing data and handling confidential information.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively under changing deadlines.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $31.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
