The Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting and servicing various consumer mortgage loans. Provides decisions on loans and makes recommendations. The Loan Officer will be the primary contact with borrowers from the time of application through loan closing. He/she will work closely with the Loan Processor and later the Loan Closer to collect data in packaging loans for submission to underwriting, assist with any conditions for approval, and then any conditions for documents and funding.
The Loan Officer will be responsible for pre-qualifying the borrower, taking a complete loan application from the borrower, and identifying the appropriate loan program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete a loan application (1003) quickly and efficiently.
Maintain an NMLS License in the State in which loans will be originated.
Established COI database with constant expansion activity.
Experience originating conventional Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Non-Conforming, FHA, and VA loans.
Working knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines for conventional loans.
Familiar with compliance laws.
QUALITIES:
The Loan Officer must have a valid NMLS license.
Punctual, reliable, dependable, works well with others, is efficient with multi-tasking, is a good listener, exhibits effective critical thinking and decision-making skills, and is an effective communicator with co-workers and clients.
