Description
F&M Bank and Trust Co. is looking for a Mortgage Loan Officer for our O'Fallon Office located at 2315 Technology Drive Suite 117 in O'Fallon, MO. Main responsibilities:Greet walk-in customers to the Credit Department. Also, identify, telephone, send correspondence, and visit potential or existing bank customers that may benefit from loan services. Provide, explain, assist with, and accept loan applications for residential real estate, commercial real estate and consumer loans. Once the application is made, put the application packet together and give to the loan processor. For small commercial loans, request and review business records to assess credit worthiness. While becoming familiar with the operations of that business customer, may suggest resources or improved methods to help their business succeed. Approve and initiate loans. Decline loans that do not fit the evaluation criteria. Follow up with customers to explain approval or decline decision. Close loans that are approved. Maintain positive relationships with real estate agents and others involved in the loan process. Insure that the bank's loan procedures and policies are followed for all loan customers. Participate in the officer calling program. Explain and sell life and credit life disability insurance related to loans. Initiate and document this coverage. Maintain knowledge of bank products and cross-sell to existing and potential customers. May provide notary public service to current customers and potential customers. Assist the supervisor in planning annual and long term goals for the Credit Department. Keep co-workers informed of schedule and visits to current or potential customers and calls. Participate in the Credit Dept. meetings. Attend and participate in meetings with other bank employees. Serve as a role model of bank involvement in community civic groups, charities, public relations events, and service projects. May assist in collection of delinquent loans, including contacting the customer and skip tracing. Assist or serve as back-up to the other Loan Officers. All employees must comply with the requirements of BSA as it applies to their specific job duties.EducationHigh school or GED completion requiredSome college coursework preferred in a business-related field Bachelor's degree preferred Experience5 years banking experience preferred Computer experience requiredSales, Teller, Loan Clerk, CSR, or previous Loan Officer experience preferred
