Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Mortgage Loan Officer Recruiter to join our Citizen-MTG team, specializing in the placement of Loan Officers (LOs), Branch Managers, and Division/Regional Leaders within retail mortgage platforms, including Independent Mortgage Banks (IMBs) and depository institutions. This role is focused on full-cycle recruiting, partnering with mortgage lenders to build high-performing production teams while actively sourcing and closing top origination talent.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Source, recruit, and place:
- Retail Mortgage Loan Officers (self-sourced and call center hybrid)
- Branch Managers and Producing Branch Managers
- Regional / Division Managers and build-out teams
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of active and passive mortgage production talent
- Conduct candidate screening, qualification, and deal structuring (comp plans, transitions, pipelines)
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle: outreach qualification interview offer close
Client Development & Relationship Management
- Partner with IMBs and banks to understand:
- Growth strategy
- Compensation structures
- Product mix and operational capabilities
- Act as a trusted advisor on:
- Market conditions
- Competitive hiring intelligence
- Talent mapping by geography
- Drive new business through:
- Outbound client development
- Existing client expansion
- Market specialization (regional or national)
Market Intelligence & Advisory
- Maintain deep knowledge of:
- Mortgage compensation structures (bps, margins, P&L models)
- Retail vs. consumer direct dynamics
- Market trends (rates, volume cycles, consolidation)
- Advise candidates on:
- Platform selection
- Transition strategy (pipelines, licensing, onboarding)
Deal Execution
- Negotiate offers and manage closing process
- Coordinate transition timelines, licensing, and onboarding logistics
- Support team lift-outs and branch acquisitions
- Ensure successful placement and retention outcomes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of mortgage industry recruiting experience (LO, sales manager, ops, etc.)
- Strong understanding of retail mortgage origination
- Proven ability to source and engage passive candidates
- Experience managing multiple searches simultaneously
Preferred
- Prior experience recruiting:
- Loan Officers / Branch Managers / Division Manager or multi-LO teams
- Existing network within:
- IMBs / Banks / credit unions
- Familiarity with:
- Compensation modeling (bps, margins, splits)
- Experience with team/branch build-outs or lift-outs

Compensation Structure
