As a Mortgage Underwriter at Schwab Bank, you'll play a critical role in assessing mortgage and lines of credit applications with accuracy and expertise. You'll analyze applicant financials, credit history, and prepare summaries in order to make informed, balanced decisions. Your work directly impacts the lives of families and individuals looking to "own their tomorrow". We're looking for someone who can balance analytical skills with an understanding of the real-world impact of their work. What you have

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of mortgage origination underwriting experience, with familiarity in FNMA requirements and experience with Ability To Repay/CFPB guidance
  • Proven track record in consumer credit analysis, underwriting, review and approval

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent skills
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to make complex assessments
  • Ability to convey complex financial information in a clear manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong ability to spot potential issues in applications and ensure accuracy in all documentation and decision-making
  • A deep understanding that is loan is a significant life step for the borrower, with a commitment to providing an excellent experience
  • Ability to influence across organizations and build strong partnerships
  • Strong Excel skills

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
