Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in biological or natural science is required. Three years of experience in mosquito control operations, including mosquito abatement or pest control involving pesticide use, equipment, and inspection procedures, and ground and aerial pesticide application, is required. Must pass the Florida Department of Agriculture examination in the CORE, Public Health, and Aerial categories during the first six months of employment. Additional experience in mosquito control operations, including mosquito abatement or pest control involving pesticide use, equipment, and inspection procedures, and ground and aerial pesticide application, may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Miami-Dade County, Department of Solid Waste Management's Mosquito Control Division is seeking a proactive and motivated Mosquito Control Operations Manager to lead and oversee comprehensive mosquito abatement operations. The Mosquito Control Operations Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating both traditional and innovative mosquito control strategies in close collaboration with the Research Manager and the Division Director. This role will lead with technical expertise in vector control methodologies. Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day mosquito abatement activities, including: Source reduction initiatives; larviciding and adulticiding operations; equipment oversight and maintenance; field operations management; and staff supervision. This role also involves managing, organizing, and integrating scientific research into practical field applications.
