FAIRFAX STATION (FM02), VA
Reports to the maintenance facility at 6100 Clifton Road, Clifton, VA. Under supervision, performs a broad range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to turf grass and equipment maintenance. Operates, various types of reel and rotary mowers, skid-steer and utility tractors with attachments, turf aerators, spreaders, boom sprayers, gas powered hand tools, utility vehicles and pick-up truck with trailer. Duties will include mowing, applying fertilizers, pesticides, and soil conditioners, pruning, leaf and debris removal, hand watering turf and assisting with preventive maintenance of equipment. Assists with training employees in safe operation of equipment. Operates a pick-up truck and trailer over roads to transport equipment and materials to other park facilities. Assists mechanic with preventive maintenance. Oil changes, belts, tires, sharpening rotary mower blades. Assists with rebuilding, resurfacing and reinstalling reel mowing units. Completes required documentation for equipment repairs in the WOM system. This position requires working one weekend a month and overtime as needed.Job Type: FT Hourly W BN
