About this Job
The Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) performs functions of the state relative to the examination and licensing of operators of motor vehicles, the suspension and revocation of such licenses, issuance of vehicle title and registration certificates, license plates for all motor vehicles operated upon the highways of the state, recordation of liens against vehicles, and the collection of sales/use tax and other appropriate fees, all in accordance with applicable laws.

This position for a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1 serves within the Document Management Unit at the Headquarters location in Baton Rouge. Attention to detail, general writing and math skills, and willingness to work and communicate with a small group, as well as aiding other OMV offices or sections and the public, are key to success in this role. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
May be required to possess a current Louisiana drivers license at the time of appointment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Receiving, opening and evaluating mail for proper distribution to various agency units and administration.
Preparing mail for distribution and imaging by smoothing, removing staples, and ensuring all enclosures are properly attached to each individual mail piece.
Searching various agency databases such as drivers' license or vehicle identification records to identify the appropriate records to which mail is to be assigned.
Operation of specialized scanning equipment and software to produce high-quality images of all documents. Review of all images for quality and correction as needed using multiple scanning techniques or reprocessing of the original documents.
Accurate routing of imaged documents to ensure the receiving location and document types are correct. Communication with management and other employees to verify routing is correct.
Updating databases used within the unit to produce accurate logs of specialized mail and packages received by the agency. Ensuring high accuracy in alpha-numeric entries for documents and packages received.
Other activities include producing reports detailing daily, weekly and monthly work; relief of other unit personnel for absences; answering unit phone inquiries; and assisting management with other tasks.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: The position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) as follows:
Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1--$1,213.60/bi-weekly
Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 2--$1,298.40/bi-weekly
Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 3--$1,389.60/bi-weekly
All Motor Vehicle Compliance Analysts receive an additional hourly amount added to their base pay depending on how long they have worked for the Louisiana OMV. This in addition to other types of pay including market adjustments and promotions.
