Job Description
Mastodon Moving & Storage is looking for an experienced, dependable Moving Foreman to lead residential, commercial, and specialty moving projects throughout Massachusetts and New England.
The Moving Foreman is responsible for leading a moving crew from start to finish, communicating with customers, protecting customer property, maintaining job paperwork, and making sure each move is completed safely, professionally, and efficiently.
This is a hands-on leadership position. Our foremen are expected to work alongside their crews while setting the standard for professionalism, customer service, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise moving crews on residential, commercial, storage, and specialty moving projects
- Review job information and scope of work before beginning each project
- Conduct a walkthrough with the customer and communicate the plan to the moving crew
- Assign responsibilities to crew members and keep the team organized throughout the job
- Properly pad, wrap, pack, carry, load, unload, and protect furniture and customer belongings
- Ensure trucks are loaded safely and efficiently
- Protect floors, walls, doorways, elevators, and other areas of customer properties
- Maintain communication with customers throughout the move
- Provide excellent customer service and professionally handle questions or concerns
- Complete all required job paperwork, inventory documentation, and job notes accurately
- Communicate job updates, issues, damages, delays, or changes in scope to management
- Ensure company equipment, trucks, moving pads, tools, and materials are properly cared for
- Enforce company safety procedures and safe lifting techniques
- Monitor crew productivity and help keep jobs on schedule
- Train and coach newer movers on proper moving techniques and company expectations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections when operating company vehicles
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Mastodon Moving & Storage positively at all times
Qualifications
- Previous professional moving experience strongly preferred
- Previous foreman, crew leader, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to safely lift and carry furniture, boxes, and moving equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working in the field
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow job instructions and complete required paperwork accurately
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
- Experience driving box trucks is strongly preferred
- No CDL required

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday with weekend availability as needed
- Start times may vary depending on job schedules
- Overtime opportunities may be available
- Moving industry hours may vary based on workload and project requirements
