The Immanuel Church is a church in Northern Kentucky with several ministries.
 
As a faculty member at the Immanuel School of Music, each Mozart Strings instructor is responsible for providing the highest quality of instruction in their discipline and a loving, caring environment for each student and their family. Immanuel is a place where music and fine arts are highly valued and appreciated. The Immanuel Church believes that music is one of the greatest gifts to humanity.
 
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach Mozart Strings classes:
a. Sign in at the front office / sign out when applicable.
b. Set the room up for class / Clean up after teaching.
c. Have a clear written teaching curriculum/method/ for each semester.
Fall: 13 weeks and Spring: 15 weeks (All conflicts should be communicated to the Education Director.)
d. Teach Mozart Strings Curriculum / Concert music.
e. Read and refer to the Mozart Teacher Reference Guide-Overview of the Year.
f. Teach all students proper setup, posture, and how to read music.
g. Supplement instruction with rhythm and note-reading flash cards, along with other technique-building methods.
h. Encourage every student throughout their musical journey.
i. Walk all students as one group to the front door for pick-up. j. Stay onsite & visible until all students have been picked up.
 
2. Communication:
a. Use ISM email for all Mozart communications.
b. Email parents/guardians a weekly assignment. Incorporate the corresponding practice videos and musictheory.net in these assignments.
c. Maintain healthy parental / guardian communication within 24 hours.
d. Follow the onsite school’s academic year schedule for classes and inclement weather delays/cancellations.
e. Submit an accurate attendance for each class in Dreamclass on the day it is taught.
f. Maintain an accurate class roster and email list. Contact the Education Director if/when a student is missing or if there is an error/update with your class roster/email list.
g. Dialog with Education Director / ISM leadership about any issues, concerns, or disruptive behavior within 24 hours. h. Respond to ISM leadership team emails/texts within 24 hours.
 
3. Performance Opportunities and Extra Activities:
a. Attend three (3) concerts per academic year. (All conflicts should be communicated to the Education Director.)
b. Prepare students for a healthy and positive performance experience.
c. Attend two (2) Saturday group classes & two (2) dress rehearsals per academic year. (All conflicts should be communicated to the Education Director.)
d. Encourage students to participate in Saturday group classes & dress rehearsals (4 total).
e. Prepare students for a healthy and positive class experience.
f. Participate in elementary school’s open houses when invited. (Extra compensation for these situations will be submitted.)
g. Participate in elementary school’s extra performances when invited. (Extra compensation for these situations will be submitted.)
 
4. Other Duties:
a. Participate in the parent meetings. (Last week of August.)
b. Be on time with consistent attendance to all weekly classes, concerts, & events.
c. Give the front office your contact information and introduce yourself.
d. PM Classes – ask the front office who will be on campus during your class & how to contact them (school’s contact person) after school if you have questions or concerns arise.
e. Make extra efforts to be friendly and kind to all onsite school staff and teachers.
f. Help assist and promote proper equipment for the students. Communicate when a student’s instrument size is wrong or broken.
g. Keep adequate supplies on hand for each class. Extra supplies in room 203.
h. Follow & become familiar with all public and private school policies and procedures.
i. Represent ISM and the Immanuel Church to your highest standard.
 
SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Develop students/people with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others. We stress the total development of each person: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.
2. By developing these qualities, the ISM students will become solid citizens for our future community and families at Immanuel.

1. Must be a team player and able to work positively and constructively with ISM staff, elementary school staff, and volunteers.
2. Must possess, and continually develop, strong interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications.

4. Must demonstrate emotional maturity, trustworthiness, and honesty.
5. Must interact with students & others with appropriate language/ subjects, kindness, congeniality, integrity, and compassion.
6. Must have great classroom management skills to ensure the success and safety of all students.
7. Must maintain a professional image – business casual & ISM attire is appropriate for weekly classes. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. College performance degree in primary instrument or college music education degree.
2. Five (5) years of performance in a professional organization.
3. Virtus trained, up to date with Virtus documents and monthly articles/bulletins.
4. Child Protection Policy Trained (Darkness to Light).
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
2. Walk, bend, twist, and carry moderately heavy supplies.
3. Climb up and down stairs.
4. Finger and hand dexterity sufficient to operate the instrument and equipment.
5. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
6. Transportation to & from work locations.
7. Consistent attendance required.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. All work is completed in person, generally at the on-site elementary school.
2. Days of hours of work are generally morning/afternoon/evening hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends for special activities and concerts. This list is not all-inclusive and is intended to be a guideline. The Senior Pastor, Executive Minister, ISM Education Director, ISM Director, and Administrator (and/or SPR/Finance/Trustees) may add to or modify as appropriate (items are not necessarily in order of importance). The campus function under the governance of the Immanuel Church. The church is an established entity operating as a whole and a permanent part of the Immanuel Church.  It maintains predetermined alignment characteristics that uphold the Immanuel Church mission, (Make Disciples, Share Faith, and Serve Others), while also containing some contextualized characteristics to allow it to best reach its targeted local community.
