    Introduction

    Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland''s only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.

    Main Purpose of Job

    Fiscal Accounts Specialist in the Accounts Payable section are responsible for ensuring the timely accurate review, evaluation, determination of propriety, and processing of all non-payroll related disbursements. The selected candidate will ensure that the preparation and processing of disbursement transactions are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), COMAR and the Annotated Code of Maryland and that any issues, discrepancies, or errors arising from the processing of these transactions are investigated and resolved. The employee will audit and evaluate transactions and ensure propriety and completeness. The incumbent will perform reconciliations of financial data between multiple financial systems.

    POSITION DUTIES

    • Process accounts payable invoices and working fund transmittals, and adjustments in FMIS
    • Assist Procurement unit in the review of purchase order request.
    • Reconcile employee travel advances as well as expenses reported by employees on travel expense reports according to State travel guidelines ensuring accuracy.
    • Assist in the budget preparation by compiling data in spreadsheets.
    • Assist Accounting & Finance office personnel with revenue and expenditure transactions relating to coding and compliance with State regulations.
    • Email all energy invoices to BITH Energy group as received.
    • Reconcile annual 1099 report from GAD.
    • Requests weekly and monthly revenue and expense report from FMIS and uploads to the Business office shared drive

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school

    equivalency certificate.

    Experience: Two (2) years of related clerical experience in the field of Finance/Accounting

    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred

    qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your

    qualifications.

    • Experience in a fiscal, administrative, and/or office management role
    • Experience in Microsoft Office Suites, Google Meet, Google Docs and verbal/ written communication skills·   Â
    • Experience with computerized inventory systems, familiarity with FMIS-ADPICS approval processÂ
