    MRI Tech Aide

    Part Time, Night Shift

    The MRI Tech Aid will assist with scheduling MRI procedures, managing electronic health record work queues (including scheduling, pre-authorizations, and obtaining outside films), and collaborating with physician offices to obtain necessary referrals, orders, and pre-authorizations. The role requires close coordination with MRI technologists, radiologists, and providers to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the scheduling process, with a focus on customer service and the accuracy of the information obtained.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with patient throughput, scheduling, monitoring work queues, and obtaining outside films or imaging discs while collaborating with MRI technologists, nurses, and providers.

    • Schedule MRI procedures, manage electronic health record work queues, and communicate with physician offices for referrals, orders, and pre-authorizations.

    • Display excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, acting as a liaison between MRI technologists and ordering physicians, addressing customer concerns with appropriate follow-up.

    • Ensure timely and accurate scheduling of MRI procedures, reschedule or cancel appointments as needed, and ensure all necessary documentation (orders, pre-authorizations, outside films) is obtained prior to appointments.

    • Work closely with MRI technologists and staff to ensure efficient operations, assist with training and staff support, and help develop and maintain departmental protocols.

    • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy, use two patient identifiers during interactions, and adhere to all regulatory requirements related to Protected Health Information (PHI).

    Job Requirements:

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

    • Experience: Less than one year of job-related experience required.
