Position Details:
MRI Tech- Carbondale, IL
Location : Carbondale, IL 62901
Project Duration : 13 Weeks contract
Salary Range : $65/hr - $70/hr
Shift : Weekends, Friday- Sunday 0700-1930
Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images for the evaluation and treatment of medical conditions. The MRI Technologist is responsible for patient screening, safety, image acquisition, equipment operation, and ensuring compliance with MRI safety standards while providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
· Screen patients for MRI safety, including implants, devices, and contraindications to MRI procedures
· Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
· Operate MRI equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
· Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions when applicable
· Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies or patient needs
· Evaluate images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before submission for interpretation
· Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
· Adhere to MRI safety guidelines, infection control practices, and patient confidentiality standards
· Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
· Perform routine equipment quality control and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
· Active Radiologic Technologist license as required by state regulations
· ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or MRI (MR) required
· MRI certification (ARRT-MR) required depending
· Current BLS/CPR certification required
· Previous MRI experience required
