Requirements for MRI Technologist Position
Utilizes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce tomographic films of designated portions of the human body.
Education and Certification Requirements
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology • Radiography or Accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program • Registered Technologist by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) RT • Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT MR or ARMRIT MRM
Certifications and Experience Requirements
• Must hold Certification in American Heart Associations Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) • One year of experience in MRI • Additional Life Support credential ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units
