Lead MRI Technologist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead MRI Technologist to join a growing outpatient imaging team in East Brunswick, NJ. This leadership role is ideal for an MRI professional who enjoys mentoring staff, maintaining accreditation standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while working with advanced MRI technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Oversee MRI department operations and workflow
• Maintain QA/QC documentation required for ACR accreditation and inspections
• Coordinate ACR accreditation activities with physicians, physicists, and MRI leadership
• Schedule equipment service, maintenance, and physics testing
• Manage MRI department inventory and supply ordering
• Assist with staff training, onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and MRI screening procedures
• Collaborate with schedulers, front desk teams, site leadership, and clinical staff
• Assist with staffing coverage and departmental needs as required

Requirements

• ARRT (R)(MR) or ARMRIT Certification – Required
• CPR Certification – Required
• Minimum 5 years of MRI experience
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and accreditation requirements
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and lead a team

Preferred Qualifications

• GE MRI experience
• Previous supervisory or lead technologist experience
• IV certification for contrast administration
