    Description

    $15,000 Sign-On bonus (taxable) available

    Summary: The MRI Technologist performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.
    2. Performs all tasks involved in MRI screening and safety for MRI patients, families, and others that are required to enter the MRI environment.
    3. Follows all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment.
    4. Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the MRI scanner equipment and ancillary equipment.
    5. Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and hospital computer systems are associated with this position.
    6. Rotates call to provide coverage outside of normal business hours.
    7. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
    8. Other duties as required.

    Other information: Technical Expertise

    1. Demonstrated competency in radiologic imaging principles required.
    2. Knowledge of MRI scanning techniques, safety standards, and patient screening procedures required.
    3. Ability to perform MRI procedures independently or under appropriate supervision while progressing toward MRI certification.
    4. Understanding of MRI safety practices, including implant screening and emergency procedures.
    5. Knowledge of contrast administration and patient monitoring protocols.
    6. Familiarity with RIS, PACS, and electronic health record systems required.

    Education and Experience

    1. Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
    2. Licensure: None
    3. Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) is required. ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
    4. Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 2 years is preferred.
    5. Years of supervisory experience: None
