MRI TechnologistDepartment: BGMC MRILocation: Buffalo General Medical CenterLocation of Job: US:NY:BuffaloWork Type: Full-TimeScheduled Work Hours: 7p-7aShift 3 Job DescriptionPerforms a variety of MRI procedures to produce cross-sectional images of a patients body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with both internal and external health care team members to contribute to the plan of care of the patient. Practices patient safety. Works in collaboration with MRI team and Lead to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. To provide care, preparation and positioning of patients to obtain high quality diagnostic images utilizing magnetic resonance imaging. Requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the principals and physics of MRI. Promotes mission, vision and values of Kaleida Health. Education And CredentialsAssociate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology or graduate of approved ARRT Certification Program required. Completion with a passing score of a cross sectional anatomy exam required. If certified, cross sectional anatomy exam not required. If Nuclear Med Tech, Bachelor of Science required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT MR) within 3 Years required. It is required to have only one of the following Licenses/Certifications upon hire/transfer; Radiology Technologist, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R), Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Am Reg Of Rad Tech Nu (ARRT N), or NYS Cert for IV Contrast Admin within 90 Days of hire/transfer. If Nuclear Med Tech - must have ARRT MR, ARRT N and Nuclear med tech Registration. If MRI Tech - must have Rad Tech, ARRT R, ARRT MR (within 3 years) and NYS Certification for IV contrast (within 90 days). ARRT - R must be current and maintained for any employees hired/transferred effective 6/12/12. Must become certified in MRI within 3 years of hire/transfer and sit for first exam within 18 months from hire/transfer and successfully pass within 3 years from hire/transfer. Certification must remain current and active. Employees hired into job prior to 8/24/04 are grandfathered for ARRT-MR. Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 days from hire or transfer required. Existing Imaging Technologists as of 11/10/2020 will have until 8/31/2021 to obtain their BLS.
