In this role you will be:
- Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation, and safety throughout the exam.
- Properly screen patients for MRI contraindications, including implants, pacemakers, and metal objects.
- Position patients accurately and use appropriate coils and techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment, troubleshooting technical issues when necessary.
- Monitor patients during imaging, responding promptly to discomfort or medical needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and enter data into PACS and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Adhere to MRI safety protocols, including maintaining Zone 4 safety standards and reporting safety concerns.
- Assist with contrast administration under physician or radiologist supervision, following all guidelines.
- Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and equipment maintenance routines.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
EDUCATION: Completion of an approved school of radiologic technology required
EXPERIENCE:
2 years general radiologic technologist
MRI experience preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Registered with the ARRT as an RT(R)
Registered in MR within 1 year of hire beginning June 2005
Completion of MRI safety officer course and obtained certification within 1 year of hire required
BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
