In this role you will be:

  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols.
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation, and safety throughout the exam.
  • Properly screen patients for MRI contraindications, including implants, pacemakers, and metal objects.
  • Position patients accurately and use appropriate coils and techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment, troubleshooting technical issues when necessary.
  • Monitor patients during imaging, responding promptly to discomfort or medical needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and enter data into PACS and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Adhere to MRI safety protocols, including maintaining Zone 4 safety standards and reporting safety concerns.
  • Assist with contrast administration under physician or radiologist supervision, following all guidelines.
  • Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and equipment maintenance routines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • EDUCATION: Completion of an approved school of radiologic technology required

  • EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years general radiologic technologist

  • MRI experience preferred

  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Registered with the ARRT as an RT(R)

  • Registered in MR within 1 year of hire beginning June 2005

  • Completion of MRI safety officer course and obtained certification within 1 year of hire required

  • BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
