The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations on inpatient and outpatient populations under the supervision of a Radiologist. The role involves ensuring patient safety, producing diagnostic-quality images, and delivering exceptional patient care while following established protocols.
Responsibilities
Perform MRI procedures according to department protocols and physician orders.
Prepare, position, and educate patients for MRI examinations.
Verify patient identity, medical history, and required documentation.
Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications.
Ensure patient comfort while maintaining image quality.
Maintain MRI equipment and report any operational issues.
Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members.
Participate in emergency response and provide first aid when necessary.
Assist with training and mentoring new staff as needed.
Requirements
ARRT (MR) Certification
BLS Certification (AHA Only)
Minimum 5 years of MRI experience
Level I Trauma experience preferred
Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient care
