Overview
The MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established protocols. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care while supporting accurate diagnostics and maintaining equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Imaging
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensure adherence to physician orders and imaging protocols.
Patient Monitoring & Care
- Monitor patient condition, safety, and comfort during procedures.
- Identify and report any abnormalities or changes in patient status.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Adjust imaging equipment and controls to meet exam specifications.
- Perform routine equipment checks, testing, and minor troubleshooting.
- Report major equipment malfunctions for repair or replacement.
Preparation & Workflow
- Review patient information and physician orders prior to procedures.
- Prepare appropriate equipment and ensure efficient workflow prioritization.
Data & Documentation
- Accurately record diagnostic data and maintain patient imaging records in applicable systems.
Diagnostic Collaboration
- Assist physicians and specialists in interpreting imaging results as needed.

Education Requirements:
- Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program (required)
OR
- Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program (required)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical radiology experience (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications (Required)
Candidates must meet one of the following certification pathways:
- Registered Technologist in Radiography and Registered Technologist in MRI
OR
- Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Registered Technologist in MRI
OR
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Registered Technologist in MRI
