Operates a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat of pathologies.
Responsibilities

- Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
- Performs patient pre-screening scheduling and education related to the examination.
- Enters and monitors patient data transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency and develops film in an automatic processor.
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS image quality correct lead markers and patient data history.
- Ensures equipment is properly functioning.
- Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in department.
Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associates degree
Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Licensure and Certification

- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month 30 days of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Radiography (R.T.R.A.R.R.T.) required within one year of transfer or hire date.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (R.T.M.R.A.R.R.T.) required within one year of transfer or hire date. Must be in good standing or registry eligible.
- Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months 1 year of hire date or job transfer date.
- Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months 1 year of hire date or job transfer date.
