Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY 10011
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (3x12)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Pay for Travelers: From $2,691/Week (based on experience)
Pay for Locals: Upto $2,400/Week (based on experience)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The role requires strong technical expertise to ensure diagnostic-quality imaging while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures following established protocols
- Position patients and coils appropriately to obtain optimal imaging results
- Educate patients on procedures, expectations, and safety requirements
- Review patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI procedures
- Ensure all images are properly labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely manner
- Evaluate image quality and ensure diagnostic acceptability
- Accurately complete studies and documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment before and after shifts
- Manage and maintain supplies and accessories required for procedures
- Record and update patient tracking information in RIS
- Schedule exams as required
- Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Assist physicians during procedures as needed
- Perform clerical duties when support staff is unavailable
- Adhere to MRI safety standards, preventing exposure to ferromagnetic materials
- Follow infection control policies to ensure patient and staff safety
- Participate in training, in-services, and professional development activities
- Maintain required licensure and certifications
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and MRI physics
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills in MRI imaging
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology program
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
- ARRT (MRI) Certification
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Certification
