Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Manhattan, NY Job Type: Contract (8 Weeks, with possible extension)
Assignment Details:
Shift: 8-hour Day/Night shifts
Schedule: Flexible (based on department needs)
Employment Type: Contract
Compensation:
Local Rate: $63 – $72/hour (based on experience)
Travel Rate: $75 – $90/hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The technologist will operate MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, and produce accurate imaging results in accordance with established protocols.
Responsibilities:
Perform MRI imaging procedures following established protocols
Position patients and coils to obtain optimal diagnostic images
Educate patients regarding procedures and provide clear instructions
Review MRI safety screening questionnaires prior to scanning
Ensure all images are accurately labeled and transmitted to PACS
Complete and document studies in Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of MRI equipment and rooms
Monitor inventory and ensure availability of supplies
Assist physicians during procedures as required
Adhere to strict MRI safety standards to prevent hazards
Maintain accurate patient tracking and documentation
Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions promptly
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
ARRT (MRI) Certification required
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and physiology
Excellent technical and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
Experience in a hospital or high-volume imaging environment
