Position Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York City, NY 10029
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Job Summary:
Perform high-quality MRI imaging procedures using advanced magnetic resonance technology while ensuring patient safety, accurate positioning, and compliance with MRI protocols and departmental standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI scans according to established protocols
- Position patients and coils for optimal imaging quality
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and accuracy
- Ensure proper labeling and transmission of images to PACS
- Maintain documentation in RIS/IDX systems
- Conduct MRI safety screening and enforce safety protocols
- Educate patients on MRI procedures and preparation
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during scans
- Maintain MRI suite cleanliness and equipment readiness
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
- Assist physicians during imaging when required
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient imaging schedules
- Maintain compliance with licensure and hospital policies
Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT-approved Radiologic Technology program required
- Active New York State Radiology License required
- ARRT (MRI) certification required
- BLS certification required
- NYS DOH Radiography License required
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics and cross-sectional anatomy
- Strong patient positioning and imaging skills
- Minimum 2 years MRI experience preferred
