Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 2 months Contract
Schedule: **Monday Through Friday 10AM - 6pm**
Hourly rate: $71/ hour on W2 Negotiable
Job Summary- Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures.
- Apply technical judgment to obtain diagnostically acceptable images according to established protocols and patient needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform MRI imaging procedures.
- Position patients and MRI coils to obtain optimal studies.
- Educate patients about the procedure, imaging area, and required instructions.
- Review MRI safety questionnaires before allowing patients into the scan room.
- Ensure all MRI images are properly labeled according to department SOPs.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and transmit studies to PACS promptly.
- Complete all studies and documentation in IDX/Radiology Information System.
- Accurately enter patient tracking information and schedule exams in IDX as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the MRI room and equipment before and after each shift.
- Remove soiled linens and maintain appropriate supplies and accessories.
- Scan and maintain patient-related documentation.
- Report equipment issues, required repairs, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist physicians as required.
- Call for inpatients when needed.
- Perform related clerical duties when support staff are unavailable.
- Maintain strict MRI safety standards and prevent ferromagnetic materials from entering the scan room.
- Follow infection control policies and protocols.
- Attend required in-services and professional development meetings.
- Maintain required licensure and compliance with applicable Public Health Code requirements.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Strong knowledge of physiology.
- Strong understanding of physical sciences and MRI physics.
- Excellent technical MRI skills.
Preferred Experience- 2+ years of MRI experience.
Required Education- Graduate of a JRCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
