Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 3 months Contract
Schedule: Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Thursday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Hourly rate: $71/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Job Summary
  • Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Apply appropriate technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies according to protocols and patient needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures.
  • Position patients and MRI coils to obtain optimal images.
  • Educate patients about the MRI procedure, imaging area, and required instructions.
  • Review patient MRI safety questionnaires before entering the scan room.
  • Maintain strict MRI safety standards and prevent ferromagnetic materials from entering the scan room.
  • Ensure images are accurately labeled according to department SOPs.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and transmit completed studies to PACS promptly.
  • Complete and update studies in IDX/Radiology Information System (RIS) in a timely manner.
  • Accurately record patient tracking information in IDX/RIS.
  • Schedule exams in IDX/RIS as required.
  • Scan and maintain patient-related documentation.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and accessories in the MRI/radiology room.
  • Clean and maintain the room and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift, including removal of soiled linens.
  • Report equipment problems, required repairs, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist physicians directly as needed.
  • Call for in-patients as required.
  • Perform clerical duties when support personnel are unavailable.
  • Follow infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
  • Attend required in-services, training, and professional development meetings.
  • Maintain required licensure and remain in good standing in accordance with applicable Public Health Code requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Strong understanding of physical sciences and MRI physics.
  • Excellent technical MRI skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Required Education: Graduate of an JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology
