Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 02 months Contract
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 11am -7pm Saturday 8am -4pm
Hourly rate: $ 71/hour on W2 (Negotiable)

Job Summary
  • Operate specialized MRI equipment to perform diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
  • Apply technical judgment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while following established protocols and meeting patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures according to departmental protocols.
  • Position patients and MRI coils for optimal image quality.
  • Educate patients about MRI procedures and provide pre-exam instructions.
  • Review MRI safety questionnaires before patients enter the MRI scan room.
  • Ensure all MRI images are accurately labeled per department SOPs.
  • Evaluate image quality and transmit completed studies to PACS promptly.
  • Complete and document exams in the Radiology Information System (IDX) in a timely manner.
  • Accurately record patient tracking information in IDX.
  • Schedule MRI exams in IDX as needed.
  • Scan and upload patient-related documentation.
  • Maintain MRI room cleanliness and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use.
  • Stock and maintain necessary MRI supplies and accessories.
  • Notify supervisors of equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist physicians during procedures as needed.
  • Call and prepare inpatients for scheduled exams.
  • Perform clerical duties when support staff are unavailable.
  • Adhere to MRI safety standards to prevent ferromagnetic hazards.
  • Follow infection prevention and control policies.
  • Attend required in-service training and professional development sessions.
  • Maintain required licensure and comply with applicable health regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Cross-sectional anatomy
    • MRI physics
    • Physical sciences
    • Human physiology
  • Excellent MRI technical and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience.
