Job Title: MRI Technologist
Specialty: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
Site: VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), Radiology Department
Location: 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89086-4400
Duration: 1 year contract with the option of 4 one-year extensions
Shift Schedule: Days, nights, weekends, and holidays; swing and graveyard shifts possible; 40 hrs/week baseline; schedule subject to change at short notice
Credentialing/Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks
Certifications:
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT primary MRI certification
- BLS (American Heart Association)
Special Skills Needed:
- MRI safety protocols and screening for contraindications
- Venipuncture/contrast administration
- Pulse-sequence selection and image optimization
- Cross-training radiologic technologists in MRI physics/positioning/coil selection
Responsibilities:
- Patient identification, screening, and education prior to scanning
- Performing MRI examinations per physician request
- Maintaining MRI suite cleanliness/infection control
- Serving as liaison to management on MRI section operations
- Maintaining protocol exam booklet
