The MRI Technologist interprets physician’s orders and performs diagnostic radiography and MRI Scans, demonstrating expertise in use of equipment. Prepares equipment, correctly positions patients, and applies proper techniques for procedures. Prepares required reports and documentation, maintains work area, and assists in other support activities for department, such as transporting patients. Works with department administration to get MRI services accredited with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and State License as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
Prepares reports and documentation as required or directed.
Transports patients to MRI area and assists during MRI process.
Maintains equipment and work areas.
Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.
Performs other related duties in support of department activities.
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an MR Technologist (RTMR) or be certified by ARRT and/or have appropriate state licensure and have six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience. Credentialed as MRI Technologist preferred and must have at least three years experience. Strong interpersonal and communications skills required. Must be fluent in the English language.
