Job Description

The MRI Technologist under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director performs all MRI procedures in accordance with ACR ARRT state regulations and departmental policies. The MRI tech is responsible for ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above-mentioned examinations. The Technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics. Other duties as deemed necessary.

PRN Status Clause

This is a PRN as-needed position. You must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary, increase or decrease depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education

  • Graduate of an approved and accredited A.R.R.T. program.
  • Graduate of an approved and accredited MRI program.

Required Licensure Certifications Registrations

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) MRI certification required.
  • ARRT-MR certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • SCRT (QSA) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
