What You’ll Do

As an MRI Technologist (PRN) at OrthoAtlanta, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with radiologists, physicians, and clinical teams in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

  • Imaging Operations: Operate MRI equipment related to patient care imaging, image processing, transmission, archiving, and electronic medical records.
  • Patient Care & Education: Instruct patients on MRI procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide radiologists and physicians with relevant patient history.
  • Technical Excellence: Prepare and position patients using standardized protocols to produce the highest quality diagnostic images; evaluate images for technical accuracy prior to submission for interpretation.
  • Quality & Accreditation: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including ACR accreditation; perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control in accordance with vendor and ACR guidelines.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all MRI safety standards and practices, recognizing and mitigating risks related to ferromagnetic objects and magnetic field exposure.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and departmental policies; identify potential risk areas and support resolution efforts.
  • Inventory & Equipment: Maintain MRI supplies, perform physical inventories, and assist with equipment calibration and maintenance as required.
  • Professional Standards: Follow ARRT Standards of Ethics and complete continuing education to maintain licensure.
  • Team Support: Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.

What You’ll Need

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT registered with advanced MRI certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • One to three years of experience in MRI or related imaging services
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Strong understanding of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills
