Hiring Range

$34.40 - $47.30/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI exams on patients in a hospital setting as requested by the referring physicians and must ensure safety in the MR environment before entering the magnetic field. Performs all MRI imaging exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs MRI screening for all patients, patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and for completing all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.

What you will do
  • Operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Prepares and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Screens patients for MRI safety prior to the procedure.
  • Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Positions the patient and observes the scanning process.
  • Assists the radiologist with procedure performance when required. Obtains intravenous access and administers contrast media as director per protocol. Operates the power injector.
  • Evaluates the MRI scan for technical quality, sequences, and labels appropriately.
  • Schedules patients for procedures and assists with clerical functions. Coordinates the screening and patient flow.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality.

Qualifications

Experience
  • MRI experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
